Naidu reviews damage caused by unseasonal rain
The value of loss of horticultural crops is estimated at Rs 22.68 crore

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the damage caused to crops due to the unseasonal rains with the District Collectors and senior officials through a video-conference on Friday.
He was informed that in 42 mandals spread over 12 districts, 4,840 hectares of maize, 1,534 hectares of paddy and 310 hectares of millet crops have been damaged in the past two days. Officials estimated the loss at Rs.40 crore.
Officials said banana, papaya, chilli, vegetables, mango, orange and lemon crops were damaged in 1,301 hectares in 48 mandals in nine districts. The value of loss of horticultural crops is estimated at Rs22.68 crore.
The Chief Minister suggested that a system should be designed so that the problem recur in the future to minimise the damage.
At a separate meeting on the LPG situation, he wanted to focus on alternative means like induction stoves, PNG and EV. Precautionary measures should be taken before the global supply chain is seriously disrupted by Iran–Israel war.
He wanted steps and liasioning with the Centre to avoid shortage of fertilizers, petrol and diesel.
He said rural, tribal areas, educational institutions and temples should be given priority in LPG supply.
